National Sorry Day - On 26 May 1997 the landmark ‘Bringing them Home’ report was tabled in federal parliament. ‘Bringing them Home’ is the final report of the ‘National Inquiry into the Separation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children from Their Families’ and was conducted by the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission (now called the Australian Human Rights Commission) between 1995 and 1997. On 26 May 1998, the first National Sorry Day was held to commemorate the anniversary of the report and remember the grief, suffering and injustice experienced by the stolen generations. City Hall will be lit Red Blue Green to recognise Azerbaijani National Day. Azerbaijan National Day celebrates the rich culture, heritage, and values of Azerbaijan among the local community in Queensland. Through this event, we hope to strengthen the bonds of friendship and create opportunities for dialogue, collaboration, and celebration of diversity. The Darkness to Daylight event is Challenge DV's flagship fundraising and awareness event which consists of a 110km overnight run, 110km monthly running challenge, and a 10km and 3km community mass-participation event. It is a month long campaign to raise much needed funds to support Domestic Violence prevention programs. https://www.darknesstodaylight.org/ At Challenge DV we're here to end domestic and family violence.
