Organic Grain Soil Health, Testing, and an Introduction to Agroforestry with Otter Creek Organic Farm at Twin Crix
Join OGRAIN at Twin Crix Farm in Spring Green, WI, on Tuesday, August 19th, for a day of organic field walks and soil health talks. Gary Zimmer will share how he uses tests to make informed decisions to increase soil health. From soil tests to tissue tests to feed tests, he’ll discuss them all. Sandy Syburg will share results from an on-farm nitrogen and cover crop study led by Michael Fields Agriculture Institute. We’ll also hear an update on the work of Rye Revival. In the afternoon, we’ll discuss grain crop rotations and tour fields of corn, clover, and rye. We’ll end the day with an agroforestry field tour and introduction with Patrick Michaels. This course is designed to provide social workers, case managers, and other professionals who provide direct services to individuals with the knowledge and skills to help clients craft solutions to their problems.
Financial Coaching Foundations will be held via Zoom on the following dates from 10 am-12:30 pm CT: August 12, 19, 26, and September 2 and 9. There is a check-in session to ensure access to materials on August 5 from 10 am-11 am CT. Calving management practices and Neonate care in dairy cattle., Workshop
The training of the farm personnel has positive impacts on animal welfare and performance and increases the overall farm profitability. To support dairy farms and their employees, the UW-Extension Dairy program has developed the “Calving management practices and Neonate care in dairy cattle” bilingual workshop. This program will help farm personnel to recognize (1) the imminent signs of birth and calving process, (2) provide guidelines for calving management practices to reduce the prevalence of stillbirth and health issues in cows, (3) be able to determine when first calf heifers or cows need assistance at calving, (4) the importance of calf management and neonate care after calving, and (5) the importance of the transition cow nutrition as a method of disease prevention and welfare. Also, the participants will have a Hands-On demonstration, where they will have the opportunity to practice calving events on a cow model along with learning guidelines for calving management practices.

This course is designed to provide social workers, case managers, and other professionals who provide direct services to individuals with the knowledge and skills to help clients craft solutions to their problems.
Financial Coaching Foundations will be held via Zoom on the following dates from 10 am-12:30 pm CT: August 12, 19, 26, and September 2 and 9. There is a check-in session to ensure access to materials on August 5 from 10 am-11 am CT. Parents Forever is an educational class for parents and caregivers in the process of divorce, already divorced, or never married but separating. In this class, you will learn how family transitions affect children and how children experience family conflict. Parents Forever is an educational class for parents and caregivers in the process of divorce, already divorced, or never married but separating. In this class, you will learn how family transitions affect children and how children experience family conflict. How to Help Your Child Who Feels Down: A Training for Parents, Description: We all feel down and blue from time to time, but some people can get stuck feeling that way. When this happens to our children, it can be really hard for them, and for us as their concerned parents. This two-part class will teach you the knowledge and research-based skills to help your child feel better.
In particular, you will learn: What mood is, What factors influence mood, How to help your child improve their mood. This class is intended for parents of children who feel a little down. Parents Forever is an educational class for parents and caregivers in the process of divorce, already divorced, or never married but separating. In this class, you will learn how family transitions affect children and how children experience family conflict. Parents Forever is an educational class for parents and caregivers in the process of divorce, already divorced, or never married but separating. In this class, you will learn how family transitions affect children and how children experience family conflict. You will learn how to care for yourself during your family transition and how to prevent and reduce conflict.

Parents Forever
Parents Forever is an educational class for parents and caregivers in the process of divorce, already divorced, or never married but separating. In this class, you will learn how family transitions affect children and how children experience family conflict. You will learn how to care for yourself during your family transition and how to prevent and reduce conflict.

Participants will learn a simple action planning tool that they can use to think strategically about their organization’s priorities. Using the action planning tool nonprofit leaders can reach consensus on what their organization needs to focus on, explore what will help and could impede their progress, and identify the most important and actionable activities to reach their goal. Raising a Thinking Child is a six-week program designed to teach you how to help children develop decision-making and communication skills to solve everyday problems. This practical program focuses on teaching children how to think through issues themselves, rather than telling them what to think. Participants will learn strategies to assist children in solving problems effectively, engaging games that teach problem-solving, and ways to help children understand and care about their own feelings as well as the feelings of others. This program is for parents and caregivers of children 4 to 7 years of age.
This class runs weekly from November 4 to December 9, 2025.
