CMBC WORKSHOP (co-sponsored) | Empowering Interdisciplinarity Graduate Workshop

This three-day workshop aims to help graduate students approach their pedagogy (and indirectly, their research) in interdisciplinary ways.  It is also a way to encourage students to move into interdisciplinary spaces like the CMBC. Interdisciplinarity, by its very nature, embodies inclusivity. It undergirds excellence in scholarship. It highlights the essential breadth of knowledge creation through mentoring and teaching. Interdisciplinarity elicits the productivity of transgressing traditional boundaries. In this workshop, graduate students will learn core interdisciplinary pedagogical strategies for: designing and teaching classes that will help students see connections in new ways , building critical thinking skills , laying the foundations for new perspectives. Participation in this workshop will enhance a student’s own professional development, and provide opportunities to develop new interdisciplinary courses that will continue to enhance their ongoing trajectories.
