Being Hyper Human Exhibition
BEING HYPER HUMAN is a collaborative exhibition that brings together photography and video works by students, alumni, and faculty from Fashion Institute of Technology and Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design, and Technology in Bengaluru, India.

Our sense of time oscillates between lived experience and its representation on our screens. Increasingly, we seek the image of reality more than reality itself. Photography plays a pivotal role in this flattening of the world—where performing for the camera becomes as ordinary as observing through it. With the rise of digital and social media platforms, we often have to become images before we can connect with others. This exhibition reflects on what it means to inhabit this hyper-image world, presenting works that examine our deepening entanglement with images: What relationship do we have with images of ourselves? What meanings of the…

Speakeasy, Die Softly: Immersive Murder Mystery Dinner Theater at Carmine's
The Dinner Show Everyone’s Dying To Attend… At Carmine’s in Times Square!
Speakeasy, Die Softly is the newest and most elaborate comedic immersive murder mystery ever performed by The Murder Mystery Company. During this killer show, guests will enjoy a three-course, family-style Italian feast in the newly renovated Sinatra Room at the legendary Carmine’s in Times Square.
The year is 1927, a time of flappers, mobsters, bootlegging, and countless seedy speakeasies. Come on into Lou Zar’s and shimmy to the live music of the club’s famous songstress, Lucy Morals, and her accompanist, Keys Yacar, or, if you prefer, play some casino games and win big money you can blow on “soda pop.” Unfortunately, the fun can’t last all night– the feds have been sniffing around, so we need your help to flip the speakeasy into a “legitimate Italian restaurant” before the police raid the place. However, even amidst all these games, dames, and dons, someone had murder on their mind! You and your table team must help the detective…

What meanings of the…

Veterans Tribute Grows at the Ocean County Library Waretown Branch
WARETOWN – A year ago, a small photo array in the Ocean County Library Waretown Branch honored several former military members in honor of Veterans Day. Today, thanks to community members who have added to it, the display fills an entire wall and is still growing.
Branch Manager Jennifer Lennon placed the first photos before Veterans Day 2023, a gesture for family members and friends who “wore the colors.” It caught the attention of patrons, visitors and neighbors who asked if they might contribute.
“We still have people coming in and taking time to look over the pictures,” Jennifer said. “They ask if everyone is local. Some ask to be added. It makes me happy every time it happens.”
There now are 55 images of local wartime and peacetime veterans, five times the size of the original display, complete with names, branches, and theaters of operation.
“I grew up in a military family. My dad, uncle and grandfather all served. So I have always had a very healthy respect for the military and its traditions,”…

In more ways than one, our worlds are closer than ever. We encounter images of distant places directly in the palm of our hands.

With the rise of digital and social media platforms, we often have to become images before we can connect with others. This exhibition reflects on what it means to inhabit this hyper-image world, presenting works that examine our deepening entanglement with images: What relationship do we have with images of ourselves? What meanings of the…

What meanings of the…

What meanings of the…

In partnership with the Huntington Arts Council and Colored Colors, this series of engaging performances occur on Friday evenings, acting as a vibrant prelude to the main acts at the Chapin Rainbow Stage. The series will feature local Long Island musicians in an intimate and accessible outdoor setting.
