Connecting Dots book talk with Joshua Miele - CREATE collaborator Joshua Miele will talk about his new memoir. In the book, Miele shares his unique approaches to solving accessibility challenges, such as automated tools for generating tactile maps, a somewhat shady scheme for crowd-sourcing descriptions of YouTube videos, and a brief but brutal sabotage campaign against inaccessible ATMs in the late 90s. Along the way, he talks about canes and dogs, braille and babies, screen readers and spacecraft, and the rebellion and romance throughout his life that ties them all together. Registration required. Mechanical Engineering Capstone Exposition

We are pleased to invite you to the Mechanical Engineering Department's Capstone Exposition! Tuesday, June 3, 2:30–4:30 PM PDT HUB North Ballroom Mechanical engineering undergraduates will showcase their capstone design projects through posters, prototypes, exhibits, and demos. Join students, industry mentors and sponsors, and the ME community in celebrating their hard work and achievements. Students have been working on their projects for the past two quarters. There is a wide range of projects, including ones sponsored by companies, hosted by faculty, and proposed by students. Many of the teams are interdisciplinary. The event will include awards and prizes, including the results of an image contest and exhibit judging by experienced engineers. Refreshments will be provided. 2025 Engineering Innovation in Health Spring Symposium
