Devva’s Room: Jen Mankoff on disability studies-informed perspectives on technology

This series of events honors Devva Kasnitz's dream to expand disability studies from the ivory tower of academia to the homes of everyday people.
On August 13, CREATE Director Jennifer Mankoff presents “Disability Studies-Informed Perspectives on Technology.” Kim Nielsen presents Disabled Women Suffragettes.
For people of all ages, each evening includes several parts: learning about disabilities studies and the history of disability, with time for questions, networking, and fun.

What we are planning: SAIL is proud to announce that it will be hosting two important presentations to educate individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as community members. We aim to inform the next generation of self-advocate leaders by exploring the past, recognizing our present, and helping to shape our future. Session 1: The Disability History Movement
Take a trip back in time to explore how people with disabilities fought for their civil rights. August 26th 4 PM – 5:30 PM, Session 2: Social Change for a Better Future,
