Rooted in Resilience: The Struggle for Indigenous Rights in Kenya
Graduate Programs
Cyrus M. Maweu is a Barer Fellow and LL.M. candidate in Sustainable International Development at the University of Washington School of Law. A legal practitioner with over a decade of experience in Kenya, Cyrus has served at the Kenyan National Commission on Human Rights. Cyrus has worked extensively in human rights, legal research, and advocacy, including strategic public interest litigation. He has served on several national committees and taskforces advising the Kenyan government on access to justice, business and human rights, and the implementation of landmark regional court decisions. Deeply committed to the Rule of Law, he is passionate about advancing justice for marginalized communities and Indigenous People. He holds an LL.B. from the University of Nairobi, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and an M.A. in Development & Governance from the University of Duisburg-Essen.

Tax LL.M. Information Session
Graduate Programs
During this information session, prospective students will learn about the UW School of Law's Tax Law LL.M, program. You will have a chance to meet with program faculty and staff and ask questions about the program and the application process.
Since its inception in 1995, the Tax Law LL.M. program has been dedicated to providing students in-depth instruction and guidance in technical and practical aspects of tax law. Our program teaches the necessary skills for innovative tax planning in all areas — federal, state and local, international and estate, gift and trust tax. Our practice-oriented curriculum accommodates both traditional students and working professionals. Most classes are offered in the late afternoon or early evening. Students may apply for admission to any quarter and students may enroll on either a full-time or part-time basis.
